Welcome from Gateway Multi Academy Trust

Posted by Jon Pinckney on 1st April 2019

Today is the first day that Oakfield School becomes part of the Gateway Multi Academy
Trust (GMAT) and we wanted to say how pleased we are that we are becoming part of
the Oakfield team.

Many parents attended our question and answer evening and based on the feedback we
received the future looks very exciting for the school. So many parents are keen to be
involved and work with us to make Oakfield a very special place for children to learn. As
with any change there are sometimes worries and concerns but we wanted to reassure
you that Gateway is very much about schools working together with children at the heart
of everything we do. As you may know, the trust has been built from The Romsey
School and the growth of partnerships has already begun with the two schools working

We would like to put on record our thanks to the governors and staff of the school who
have made us so welcome and shared with us so many of the special things that make
Oakfield. We would like to wish Ms Marcella Dobson well for the future as she embarks
on another Headship and rest assured, we will do all we can to build on the work she has
done at the school over this past year. At the same time, we welcome Mr Haydn Mitton
as Headteacher from next term and he brings a wealth of experience in school
leadership and is very keen to get started and meet as many parents as possible in the
coming weeks.

As the school changes to GMAT there will be some administrative changes and whilst we
have tried to keep these to a minimum we would ask for your patience as these changes
are put in place.

If you have any operational matters to discuss with school concerning your child please
continue to use the mechanisms that you have used in the past, however if you have any
questions or feedback regarding GMAT then please email

Copies of the leaflet shared at parents evening are still available in reception.

May we take this opportunity to wish you well for the rest of this term and have a really
great Easter break with your family and friends.

Yours sincerely

Jonathan de Sausmarez

Executive Leader GMAT.
