Pupil Feedback

2020 - 2021

Unfortunately, we did not record suggestions in this academic year.

2021 - 2022

Positive feedback: includes the ability to swap playgrounds, opportunities and teachers, the school library, learning, seeing friends, OWL, art class, doing sports and having fun, and Gold frames. Many children also mentioned that they have made good friends at the school and appreciate the friendliness of the people there.

Improvement Feedback: includes requests for more benches, swings, art supplies, whiteboard pens, glues, and better football goals. Some students also suggested changing the PE curriculum to include different sports or longer sessions, adding more lessons like art and DT to the normal school days, and having more equipment and activities to play with during break time.

2022 - 2023

Positive feedback: Children said engaging and challenging subjects like maths and science, as well as the overall fun approach to learning. They value the sense of community within the school, positive relationships with teachers and friends. The freedom to explore various subjects and participate in exciting extracurricular activities, including trips to places like Paulton Park. Outdoor learning, particularly in Owl, exploration and learning new things like photography. Additionally, they appreciated the opportunities for writing.

Improvement Feedback: the introduction of brand new clubs and extra time to play - additionally, they hope for an increase in sports equipment such as more footballs and basketballs to use at longer breaks... rather than longer lunchtimes and even suggested the option to eat outdoors during the summer for picnics more.

Some asked for learning to be a bit more challenging! They expressed a keen interest in expanding their artistic opportunities with more art too. Some older pupils also indicated a desire for increased creativity in their English lessons, suggesting the possibility of writing more stories.

Year 4 families also received their envelope today - you will have the opportunity to book your meetings soon.

The next formal event will be annual reports which are sent at the end of the summer term, though you will of course be able to take part in the next express afternoons and can contact staff to learn more, ask how you can support or for copies of any formal test outcomes before then.

Families told us they aren’t always sure how to help children at home…
